Man sought in N.E. shooting

Police have released the name and a photograph of a man being sought in connection with a shooting last weekend.

The accused, 27, is described as the ex-boyfriend of the female victim. “If you see him on the streets, just call police,” Det. Scott Sampson said Tuesday.

The victim was shot through the door of her home in the 400 block of 29th Avenue N.E. around 9:40 p.m. Sunday.

“She was at home alone and heard pounding on the door, and when she approached the door, it was kicked in,” said Sampson. Two shots were fired through the door, one of which broke the woman’s leg.

The accused has been known to live in the 300 block of 1st Avenue N.E., but he also “stays in motels and hotels,” said Sampson.

Police are also seeking another person in connection with the shooting.

The accused is five-foot-11 and 190 pounds. He has a shaved head, short goatee, blue-green eyes and an earring in his left ear. He is known to drive a green 1970s Dodge truck.

Anyone with information on the accused whereabouts is asked to call police at 266-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
