Hooker Says City Fireman Bad Pimp
An ex-firefighter was a lousy pimp who kept poor business records and tried to have sex with his workers, a city hooker testified yesterday.
The female escort, who can’t be named under a publication ban, told court the accused was her first pimp, who introduced her to the world of escort agencies after she answered his ad in a local newspaper.
At first, she liked him, but as she came to doubt his business practices, the hooker said she joined other girls from the accused agency reporting him and an associate to police.
“They were very bad people in general, not just as business people,” she said.
The accused charged with living off the avails of prostitution, procuring sex, directing the movements of prostitutes and keeping a common bawdy house.
The sex-trade witness described one incident in which the accused allegedly battered a hardware-store employee with a piece of lumber for not paying his debts.
Defence lawyer Pat Fagan is trying to prove city licensing laws, which require escort agencies and escorts to have a licence, is tantamount to legalizing the profession.
