R V. SSK [Court of King’s Bench of Alberta, Calgary – October, 2026]
SUMMARY: As one can plainly see from the media headlines, SSK along with several other persons was charged in relation t o the seizure of $1.6 million dollars of fentanyl and methamphetamine after an 18 -month investigation conducted by the RCMP and ALERT. The police investigations spanned across all Western provinces with origins in Vancouver.
The defence of SSK was particularly challenging because it involved 2 alleged hand-to-hand transactions by him to an undercover cop involving a half a brick of methamphetamine. Patrick Fagan entered an election of KB Judge Alone and scheduled the matter for trial.
Bottom Line: At the conclusion of a hard-fought 1-week King’s Bench trial, SSK (who did not testify in his own defence) was found NOT GUILTY.
For those of you who may be interested in the detailed Reasons for Judgement, those will be added to this latest case in the next few weeks.
